Welcome to the ACL Adult Services blog. I'm hoping this will be a helpful format to share information about adult service topics with staff across the library system. I think that if one staff member has a question or is wondering about something, the chances are good that other staff members have the same questions. So I want to encourage comments and feedback, with the idea that we can all benefit from each others' questions, experiences, and wisdom.
For now, I'd like to share information and answer questions about our upcoming eBook service launch through Overdrive. In the future, I hope to broaden the scope of discussion/questions/comments. I think this might be a good way to keep communication flowing in all directions, but who knows? Let's give it a try and see how things go.......
Love the blog idea. Will this replace the Reference Newsletters? Also, is there a link to it somewhere on the staff intranet? I can't seem to find it...
I think we'll try using this format instead of the Adult Services Newsletters, at least for now. This kind of format allows for more two-way communication and quicker clarification of things, so I think it's worth a try. Maybe I'll take a survey of staff after awhile to see whether it seems helpful or not.
I'll have OPER post a link to this blog on our Training Page, where the Adult Services Newsletters used to be.
